Utrecht, 19 October 2023 - The Enactus World Cup officially opened last night at the Beatrix Theatre of Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs. 30 international student teams will pitch their most impactful sustainability idea to inspiring leaders from business and civil society organisations over the next few days. One of them is Suzanne Jungjohann, CHRO Royal Consun: "The Enactus World Cup students bring innovation and passion together to create a sustainable future, something that can serve as an inspiration for us all." The Netherlands is represented this year by students from Erasmus University Rotterdam. The Enactus World Cup will take place at Royal Jaarbeurs until Friday 20 October.
International students tackle biggest challenges of the future in Utrecht
The Enactus World Cup brings together the most talented and passionate students working on international pioneering projects in the field of sustainability. The World Cup is an annual highlight that celebrates innovation, entrepreneurship and sustainability. This year, the focus is on rewarding the most promising sustainability ideas that have a positive impact on communities around the world. Increasing impact on sustainable development goals
The Enactus projects have the potential to start new social enterprises, create new careers and increase impact on sustainable development goals. An example of a Dutch Enactus project that has grown into a successful enterprise is Rebottled. The young entrepreneur's mission is to fight the waste problem in a sustainable and social way, starting with the glass industry.
