Utrecht, 30 January 2023 - Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs today won the national gold award for 'Best Congress Venue of the Year 2022'. Initiator of the awards is the trade magazine for business event venues MEETINGS. Jeroen van Hooff, CEO Royal Jaarbeurs: "Winning this award feels like a huge honour. We are extremely proud to be able to offer a stage for exceptional events and special meetings every day. From a large conference in our Beatrix Theatre to a customised conference in our Media Plaza."
Gold award: more than a central location and a good venue
Jaarbeurs wins the audience award for its great location and for the multitude of small to large halls. In addition, the venue has a strong support team. Erik Peekel, chairman of the day: "If you say an event location, you say Jaarbeurs. Iconic, people know it and it does what it is supposed to do."
Jeroen van Hooff: "We have been around for over 105 years, so we have been running for several generations. We put all that experience to work for our clients and guests. Our conference locations each have their own style. With a tailor-made location and facilities, you can propagate and strengthen the client's image. We regularly receive feedback from clients that we think along with them and advise them on how to organise the best possible congress. Meeting each other is our top priority and the way in which we do this ensures a lasting impression."
Jaarbeurs is also taking continuous steps towards sustainability. "In 2023, we want to save at least 900 tonnes of CO2 on an annual basis in our hospitality sector. This is why, among other things, we have made the assortment largely vegetarian. We sell surplus food through Too Good To Go and donate packaged food to the Voedselbank," explains Jeroen van Hooff.
Election Congress Venue of the Year
The MEETINGS AWARDS is an annual initiative of trade magazine MEETINGS, consisting of four public awards divided into the categories 'Best Meeting Venue', 'Best Event Venue', 'Best Training Venue' and 'Best Congress Venue'. The awards evolved from the Conference & Event and Training, Development & Locations (TD&L) magazines, now part of the broad trade magazine MEETINGS.
