Utrecht, 1 December 2021 - The Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs in Utrecht has entered into a partnership with consultancy firm Greendish.
From now on, Greendish will help make the Jaarbeurs 's food offer more sustainable. This means they use measurements and data to provide insight and advice on what steps Jaarbeurs can take towards a more sustainable and healthier offer. Besides optimising purchasing and menu, they measure how much food is thrown away to make more efficient choices and combat food waste. Jaarbeurs 's kitchen teams also go through the Greendish Academy and are guided in adapting the catering assortment during major fairs and events. Jaarbeurs aims to be Europe's most sustainable conference and event venue by the end of the decade.
Greendish moved to the Jaarbeurs Innovation Mile (JIM) on 1 April 2021, located on the sixth floor of the Beatrix Building of the Jaarbeurs. Among other innovative and creative scale-ups, Greendish feels like a fish out of water.
Director and founder Joris Heijnen of Greendish says: "Over 2.3 million visitors come to the Jaarbeurs every year. That's a lot of food moments where we can collectively make an impact. We are therefore proud to join Jaarbeurs in accelerating our mission by making healthy and sustainable food available to all visitors and employees."
Chief Sustainability Officer of the Jaarbeurs, Marloes van den Berg: "This collaboration is fully in line with our strategy: to become Europe's most sustainable conference and event venue.
Together with our partners, we look for the smartest and most sustainable solutions within each business area. For our catering ambition, Greendish fits this perfectly.
Now our visitors, organisers and colleagues can also enjoy this tastefully."
