Domstad Utrecht this week beating heart of mental health and fitness
Dutch Health Week is an annual event in the city and region of Utrecht for all residents and healthcare professionals. The week gives the city of Utrecht the opportunity to present itself as the region that wants to contribute most to a healthy, sustainable society. Utrecht Marketing provided a vibrant opening full of song, dance and music today. Cor Jansen: "I am really looking forward to the coming week and am proud that our Cultural Sunday is part of the beautiful programme. With Dutch Health Week, together with many partners, we are shaping what health means for residents." Jaarbeurs also contributes to a healthy city of Utrecht with its healthcare trade shows. Jeroen van Hooff, CEO Royal Jaarbeurs: "I am proud of Dutch Health Week with which we take art, culture, sports, hospitality, hotels and the entire city of Utrecht along on our 'healthy' journey in addition to our healthcare trade fairs. Together with the municipality of Utrecht, Utrecht Marketing, FC Utrecht and Centraal Museum, among others, we are putting on an inspiring multi-day festival for residents and care professionals about health and care. I am looking forward to a week full of healthy experiences."
Beyond care, art contributes to well-being
Scattered throughout the city, in various neighbourhoods, there is a free programme full of theatre, dance, music, film, literature, visual arts and workshops. Take, for instance, the HKU, which in cooperation with Health Hub Utrecht is hosting the exhibition in the city office. Students from the ROC Midden Nederland will also be talking to fair visitors and residents about their lifestyles next week. Healthcare institutions throw open their doors to Utrecht residents. And if you want healthy food, there are lots of places to go. It really is an event of and by the city. The Centraal Museum also opens its doors for a special tour in cooperation with UMC Utrecht focusing on 'Enriching the medical experience with the world of art'. Bart Rutten, Centraal Museum director: "We are proud of our city's contribution to promoting health and well-being for all. With the wide range of events and initiatives organised this week, Dutch Health Week manages to build bridges. Because in addition to healthcare, art also contributes to well-being."
Dutch Health Week belongs to everyone and is supported by Royal Jaarbeurs, Utrecht Marketing, ROM Utrecht Region, Economic Board Utrecht and Municipality of Utrecht.
