In early 2022, we switched to circular carpet flooring for our trade shows. In addition to stand construction and hospitality, trade show flooring is one of the biggest opportunities for us to become climate neutral. In fact, flooring is one of the largest sources of waste: every year, an estimated 100 million square metres of carpets are laid and disposed of worldwide. We have therefore started a sustainable cooperation with JMT Floorcoverings, supplier of the most durable type of exhibition flooring. This is a major step towards our ambition of becoming Europe's most sustainable venue.
JMT Floorcoverings is an exclusive partner of Rewind, the most durable type of exhibition carpeting and the only Cradle to Cradle Certified Silver needle-felt exhibition carpeting in the world. The carpet is designed to be circular, using responsible raw materials and energy-efficient production methods. The main difference from previous generations of exhibition carpeting is that it no longer contains latex and consists of only one material; ensuring it can be recycled to a high standard. This greatly reduces the ecological footprint of an event, and therefore CO2 emission.
