From 18 to 21 May, the very first edition of Dutch Health Week will take place. The Dutch Health Week is a new, multi-day online event focusing on the future of healthcare. Under the motto 'Let's improve health together', the Zorg & ICT, Zorgtotaal and Support trade fairs will join forces with the Prix Galien, Vrije Universiteit and Open Universiteit. The MIC (Medical Informatics Congress) is also involved in the week and will provide a session in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
More than 50 partners and over 60 speakers will bring inspiration and knowledge of new developments and innovations during the week. With more than five thousand visitors expected, Dutch Health Week will be the largest online event for healthcare in 2021. The week will be opened by Dr Bertalan Meskó, medical futurologist and director of the Medical Futurist Institute.
During Dutch Health Week, workshops, roundtable sessions and networking events will take place daily. Experts from home and abroad share the latest insights. Companies and institutes present their latest innovations and products. ICT magazine Computable provides the latest developments in healthcare and ICT. Digitisation of healthcare is an important theme of the week, as are sustainability, big data and security. But trends, leadership in healthcare, research and product innovations also receive a lot of attention.
Ruud Koolen, director of the Dutch Health Hub in formation and co-initiator of the week: "COVID-19 has brought us a lot of worries, but now also offers something beautiful. Without the crisis, we could not have achieved such a great initiative and brought together so many special partners. We are combining knowledge and expertise from knowledge institutions and major healthcare exhibitions in the Jaarbeurs to scrutinise current issues in healthcare and discover together how things can be done better. The week should really become the starting point for new contacts, new ideas and thus for stronger healthcare. During Dutch Health Week, we pool experiences and facilitate conversations with thousands of healthcare professionals to literally improve healthcare together."
