Utrecht, 13 June 2023 - Enactus teams from 15 Dutch universities and colleges competed for the national championship title last Friday. Enactus is a global movement and non-profit organisation dedicated to developing young people into entrepreneurial and responsible leaders. During a short presentation, the teams showed how and on which Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) they have made a positive social impact with their projects over the past year. Enactus Rotterdam walked away with the title and will represent the Netherlands at the World Cup in October 2023 in Koninklijke Jaarbeurs.

Enactus
Enactus educates, inspires and supports young people in harnessing innovation and entrepreneurship as solutions to major global challenges. At Enactus, students from 33 countries get the chance to set up projects that contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the Netherlands, for example, these projects range between organising children's parties for the less fortunate to developing hydroponic systems for sustainable cultivation.

Enactus Rotterdam's winning projects
A professional jury, consisting of representatives of Enactus partners and stakeholders, decided which team was declared the national champion. After an exciting final against Enactus University College Utrecht and Enactus Tilburg, Enactus Rotterdam walked away with the win. They won 950 euros to invest in their projects, which include collecting used textbooks for students in Africa, upcycling clothes and integrating refugees through a catering project.
