Utrecht, 1 October 2024 - The leading FMIR congress (Future of Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy) is taking an important step in its development. The event, which focuses on healthcare innovations in medical imaging and radiotherapy, will take place for the first time at Royal Jaarbeurs in Utrecht in 2025. The move marks a crucial phase in the ambition of KALCIO Healthcare, the organiser of the congress.

Utrecht as a hub for healthcare innovation
KALCIO Healthcare, an independent consultancy that transforms the healthcare sector through collaboration and innovation for better accessibility and quality, is organising the FMIR Congress on 3 and 4 June 2025. This move to Utrecht fits seamlessly with Jaarbeurs s growing life science platform, the Dutch Health Hub, and KALCIO Healthcare's mission to help healthcare in the Netherlands in its transformation towards future-proofing. Karel Loerts, director of KALCIO Healthcare, explains: "By organising FMIR in Jaarbeurs, we bring healthcare innovations to the shop floor faster, supporting the transformation of healthcare in the Netherlands. Utrecht, with its reputation as a hub for healthcare innovation, is the ideal location for our congress."

Growing in international healthcare
The FMIR Congress focuses on a wide range of topics, including radiology, nuclear medicine, radiotherapy, AI, radiation hygiene, ultrasound and medical technology. This focus makes the event unique of its kind and attracts professionals from various disciplines. Herman Mantel, CCO Royal Jaarbeurs added: "We are super proud to be hosts of FMIR. The conference fits seamlessly with the themes and ambitions embraced by the city of Utrecht and thus Jaarbeurs. Within the Utrecht Congress Alliance, a collaboration with public and private parties including the Municipality of Utrecht, the Province of Utrecht and Utrecht University, we have one goal: to put Utrecht on the map as the city and region for organising top congresses. The focus is on congresses that fit the positioning 'Utrecht, Heart of Health' and that connect to the regional themes Life Sciences & Health, New Digital Society and Smart Sustainability. FMIR can make a perfect contribution to this so that we can grow in international healthcare."

Attractiveness new venue
The organisers expect significant growth in the number of participants, both from the Netherlands and Belgium. This increase of more than 25% underlines the importance of FMIR and the appeal of the new location. KALCIO Healthcare, founded in 2009, is a leading service provider for hospitals, VVT and GGZ organisations in the field of organisational development. Their focus is on creating the right balance between people, processes, medical technology, healthcare ICT and facilities. "We work from the needs of patients, clients, employees, healthcare professionals and medical specialists to ensure that they can do their work optimally or receive the best care," says Karel Loerts.

The move to Jaarbeurs offers numerous advantages for participants, including a central location, excellent accessibility by public transport, and ample overnight accommodation nearby. The FMIR Congress in Jaarbeurs promises to play a crucial role in the further development and improvement of the healthcare sector, fully in line with KALCIO Healthcare's vision of transforming healthcare through collaboration and innovation.
