Utrecht, 20 December 2021 - GEVEL 2022, the largest live event for the facade industry, will be rescheduled for 31 May to 2 June 2022. The Jaarbeurs has taken this decision in close consultation with exhibitors and the industry. The move takes place because of the current lockdown, combined with the informal nature of the event. The expectation of all involved is that the current lockdown and corona measures will not be scaled down fast enough to ensure that. GEVEL 2022 was originally scheduled from 8 to 10 February.

Marisa Richter of GEVEL 2022: "We would obviously love to see each other live, but GEVEL 2022 is really about meeting and networking in a casual way. Together with the industry, we have analysed whether that will be possible in the short term and our assessment is that it won't be. All parties therefore agreed to move the fair to May 2022."

Architectural firm UNStudio, one of the ambassadors of GEVEL 2022: "We are incredibly looking forward to meeting our peers to present our programme and exhibition for GEVEL 2022. However, our main priority is to have an enthusiastic audience in the GEVEL Arena that feels safe and comfortable. A date at the end of May gives more certainty to achieve that goal."

Rob de Jong director of external wall insulation specialist Sto Isoned: "We are in favour of moving GEVEL 2022 to the end of May. The social unrest surrounding the high Covid contamination rate and uncertainty about the Omikron variant are also important reasons for us to move customer events to spring. We are extremely looking forward to this exhibition and look forward to sharing our interpretation of the Inception theme. A few months' delay is not the end of the world."

About GEVEL 2022

The Jaarbeurs expects to open its doors to the facade industry at the end of May. Every two years, exhibitors and visitors gather at GEVEL to share their fascination with the building envelope, and exchange knowledge and experience in building envelope design and engineering. GEVEL 2022's theme is 'Inception', which translates as 'start, beginning, idea'. More information about the participants, the programme, ambassadors and framing activities will be available at www.gevel-online.nl in the near future. Visitors can also register there.

The Jaarbeurs considers for each fair or event, in close consultation with the authorities, whether the meeting can take place safely. More information about what the Jaarbeurs does in this area can be found at jaarbeurs.
