Today, Royal Jaarbeurs launches the innovative Dopper Water Tap. This is Dopper's latest innovation in the fight against disposable plastic. Dopper has chosen Jaarbeurs as a launching partner in its latest innovation. Marloes van den Berg, Chief Sustainability Officer Koninklijke Jaarbeurs: "We are extremely proud to be an official partner of Dopper. Their latest innovation fits perfectly with our ambition to become Europe's most sustainable venue. With the Water Tap, we make it more fun and easier for all our guests to always fill your reusable water bottle. And in doing so, we support Dopper in its mission to make refilling water bottles the new norm and fight plastic pollution." The water tap points can be found from today in the central hall and 3rd floor of the Beatrix Building.

Cooperation between Dopper and Koninklijke Jaarbeurs
In late September, Dopper CEO Virginia Yanquilevich unveiled the Dopper Water Tap. "Convenience appears to be the main reason for people to buy a disposable bottle. Also, people find public water taps hard to find. Our answer to this is the introduction of a recognisably designed, innovative water tap specifically designed to help change behaviour. We are delighted to be working with Jaarbeurs to also encourage behavioural change within the conference and event sector. In this way, we are jointly doing our bit for a better world," explains Dopper CEO Virginia Yanquilevich. Marloes van den Berg adds: "We are doing everything we can at Jaarbeurs to reduce our CO2 emissions with the ultimate goal of becoming CO2 neutral or even CO2 positive by 2030. Together, we are making it easier and more fun to combat the purchase of disposable bottles and associated plastic pollution."

Online dashboard gives insight into saving plastic
To make refilling reusable bottles the norm and change people's behaviour, Dopper spent two years working on a recognisably designed water tap. Via the specially designed drop-shaped LED screen, nudging is employed, a motivational technique where positive rewards encourage behavioural change. Each tap moment gives the user direct insight into their own realised positive impact via the screen. By making refilling the water bottle a unique and fun experience, repetition is encouraged. Marloes van den Berg: "We are happy that the online dashboard allows us to see exactly how much plastic has been saved. This helps us both internally and externally to raise environmental awareness and thus make our sustainability policy even more concrete."

Besides the water taps at Jaarbeurs, the first taps can be found at Alfa Accountants, Auping, Blooming Hotel, the Bijenkorf, Circl (ABN AMRO), NHL Stenden and Onemeeting.com. Extra handy: all tapping points can be found on Google Maps.
