Utrecht, 20 February 2023 - Last week, Royal Jaarbeurs planted trees during the Tree Planting Day in Leersum. Last year, Jaarbeurs donated a total of over 2,500 trees to projects of partner Trees for All. Marloes van den Berg, Chief Sustainability Officer: "For every fair, event, meeting or conference, we plant a tree in one of the Trees for All projects as standard. We are committed to circularity, zero waste and we do that with more sustainable catering, digitalisation of our products and services and with purchasing exhibition materials, among other things."

Rik Roskam, Relationship Manager Trees for All: "We are very proud of Jaarbeurs as a partner, because our cooperation is not a stand-alone donation but is really part of a broad and ambitious sustainability policy on climate, circularity and combating food waste. That's how we make a lot of impact together!" Marloes van den Berg: "We make it possible for our clients and all our own events to both organise an event and plant a tree. Our goal is to be a CO2-neutral event location in the heart of the Netherlands by 2030. The cooperation with Trees for All fits this goal perfectly."
Jaarbeurs is on its way to becoming a CO2 neutral event venue
Jaarbeurs is continuously taking steps to be Europe's most sustainable event venue and organiser by 2030. "With the 2.3 million people we host every year, we can have a positive impact on our environment. If possible, we want to be not only carbon-neutral, but even climate-positive. We are already reducing our impact by purchasing circularly and thereby reducing waste. For instance, we recently started using mobile waste recycling points to ensure a clean waste stream during the construction and dismantling of our exhibitions. We also fight against food waste, there is no more room for disposable plastic and we generate our own green energy. In all the industries where we operate, we drive sustainable initiatives and help accelerate sustainability."
