In our Beatrix Theatre, where musical stars normally shine on stage, this time young impact makers from all over the world will gather for the festive opening of the Enactus World Cup. For three days, 1,500 international students will pitch their most impactful sustainability idea to inspiring leaders from business and civil society organisations. The Enactus World Cup is not just another event; it is a platform where young impact makers can share their ideas and projects with the world and where innovation and passion go hand in hand with a sustainable future.
Who's gonna save the world tonight?
In and around Jaarbeurs, it is currently buzzing with energy, discipline and young entrepreneurship. Jeroen van Hooff has been at the helm of the Utrecht event venue for 1.5 years and experienced the festive kick-off with goose bumps: "You see the pride in the eyes of the young talented students to represent their country with the best sustainability idea. I feel the togetherness with and between the international student teams. And that in the context of what is happening in the world at the moment. Who's gonna save the world tonight... popped through the sound boxes. Right: the young social entrepreneurs of the future sitting in the room with us."
"Shortly before the opening ceremony, Jaarbeursplein was one big international flag parade, it looks like a mini-Olympics!", says one of the young impact makers.
Proudly hosting the leaders of the future
The Enactus World Cup brings together the most talented and passionate students working on international pioneering projects in the field of sustainability. For Enactus Netherlands, hosting their World Cup at Jaarbeurs is a logical choice. Nancy Moorman, director Enactus Netherlands: "The Utrecht event venue is working hard to continue the sustainability drive they are currently making. Their ambition is to become the most sustainable event venue in Europe. Jeroen already mentioned that tips and tricks from the talented young impact makers are more than welcome. We are of course happy to contribute to that!"
Jeroen continued: "I love to see how the young social entrepreneurs inspire us with solutions to solve the biggest social and environmental problems around the world. Sustainability and innovation are leading topics and at the same time our strategic pillars. These days, I will be fully inspired by the future leaders as they delve further into these themes."
