Tens of thousands of education professionals will gather at the National Education Exhibition until Saturday 25 January for knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration
Utrecht 21 January, 2025 - The National Education Exhibition, the largest event for educators in the Netherlands, was festively opened today by Her Majesty Queen Máxima at Royal Dutch Jaarbeurs. At the NOT, until next Saturday 25 January, tens of thousands of education professionals will have the opportunity to discover the latest trends and developments within the education sector. Topical themes such as AI, diversity and equal opportunities, mental well-being, job satisfaction, citizenship, craftsmanship and technological innovations will take centre stage.
Central theme 'Heart for education'
Queen Máxima spoke this morning about the importance of focusing on the mental health of young people in education. After her speech, she visited the MIND Space Lounge. Here, MIND Us, the Healthy Generation and Healthy School organised talks and workshops on young people's mental health. Education professionals here will hear more about how to promote pupils' wellbeing and stay ahead of mental problems among this group as much as possible in the coming days. Frederieke Vriends, director of MIND Us, stresses the importance of structural and school-wide attention to mental health in education: "In Queen Máxima's speech, she pointed out the crucial role schools have in recognising and supporting mental health problems. Mental well-being forms the basis for young people's development. By giving mental health a permanent place in education, we can help them grow up resilient." Queen Máxima also met a number of exhibitors at the National Education Exhibition, including Leskracht, developer of innovative educational products for primary education. Tim Smit, Leskracht director: "We found the interest shown by Queen Máxima in our vision this morning a huge support and encouragement. We had a great conversation about social skills within the context of lessons and activities."
Focus on young and new talent in education
For the first time, the National Education Exhibition presents the multifaceted world of education during the so-called education expedition through guided tours. Each tour focuses on a topical theme: from young and new talent, employers to experienced professionals. The tours include the 'Starting in education' tour, the 'Working happiness in education' tour and the 'Bonding in education' tour. This unique experience is organised in collaboration with Classroom Workplace. Audrey Wilschut, fair manager: "We are extremely excited to introduce these new exclusive tours at the NOT. This enables us to offer an even more complete programme and give our visitors an in-depth insight into the various facets of education. Among other things, responding to current themes such as teacher shortages."
All education professionals under one roof
NOT 2025 brings all relevant organisations and inspiring speakers within education under one roof. For five days, NOT is the meeting place where education professionals meet over 300 exhibitors and inspiring speakers. They share their knowledge and vision on a variety of themes, carefully chosen by education professionals and the programme committee. The themes are Diversity, equality and inclusion; Citizenship; Craftsmanship; Healthy and safe education and Quality and development.
NOT will take place from Tuesday 21 January to Saturday 25 January 2025 at Royal Jaarbeurs in Utrecht.
