Utrecht, 22 September 2023 - The annual Wielergala will take place in cycling city Utrecht for the first time in 2023. The Wielersporters van het Jaar will be chosen during this annual event. On Monday 27 November next, Royal Jaarbeurs will lay out the red carpet for the Wielergala. Cor Jansen, director Utrecht Marketing: "The Giro, Tour, Vuelta and now also the Wielergala. Proud that this wonderful event is coming to Utrecht in close consultation with Vuelta partners 's-Hertogenbosch and BrabantSport. Utrecht hosts cycling event
The annual Wielergala is moving from 's-Hertogenbosch to Utrecht after more than 60 years. The organisers are looking forward to expanding the Wielergala even more. Joop Atsma of Club 48, the organisers of the national Wielergala: "With an eye for tradition, we are renewing the Wielergala. With Utrecht and 's-Hertogenbosch, we see this new format as a great opportunity and challenge. Globally, the Netherlands plays a leading role in almost all disciplines. It is important that once a year we put our own champions in the limelight during the national Wielergala."
Marianne van der Sloot, alderman of Sport of 's-Hertogenbosch: "The Wielergala gets the chance to be rolled out from a wider and national cycling concept. A unique opportunity, which 's-Hertogenbosch also supports. Together, we grant cycling the development towards a national Dutch Cycling Week in Utrecht. And of course it hurts to let go. The Wielergala once started in 's-Hertogenbosch and for decades, with many parties and with pride, we helped make it possible. Now we hope that all parties have the focus on the common, national interest and the importance of Dutch cycling."

The Wielergala will take place on 27 November at Royal Jaarbeurs in Utrecht and is by invitation only.
