New edition with top speakers including professor Erik Scherder, TedX frontman Jim Stolze and TikTok Master Jesper

Utrecht, 8 December 2022 - From Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 January 2023, the National Education Exhibition (NOT) will take place at Royal Jaarbeurs after a four-year absence. Tens of thousands of education and childcare professionals will gain knowledge and inspiration during the largest event for educators in the Netherlands on the latest learning tools, innovations and products. Audrey Wilschut, fair manager: "We are looking forward to finally inspiring education professionals live again in times of high work pressure. Especially now, it is important to take the sector a step further so that they can make a valuable contribution to the development of the next generation. As a special guest this year, we have Princess Laurentien van Oranje who will officially open NOT 2023 on Tuesday 24 January at 10.30 am. We are also giving the stage to well-known top speakers such as professor Erik Scherder, TedX frontman Jim Stolze and well-known TikTok Master Jesper."

Theme NOT 2023 'For development and growth'
Princess Laurentien, minister Dennis Wiersma (primary and secondary education) and well-known TedX front man Jim Stolze will open NOT 2023 in the EdTech College developed especially for the fair. Audrey Wilschut: "This edition is all about development and growth, both of the students and of the education and childcare professionals themselves. Digital transformation within education is an important theme in this. That is why we have set up a special EdTech College, where visitors will receive a full digital update led by Jim Stolze." Besides the official opening, Princess Laurentien, founder of number 5 foundation and FutureNL board member, will also be involved in the so-called Game Changers Clubhouse. Here, children and adults will engage in a dialogue about the education of today and tomorrow based on 12 topical themes. "Children still have very little life experience. But they do have different knowledge and different brainpower than adults, and that is exactly what makes their input so interesting," said Princess Laurentien.

Professor Erik Scherder on the challenge of the brain in times of digitalisation
NOT 2023 is all about digital education innovations. Audrey Wilschut: "A great development that offers many opportunities to design education even more effectively. But are we still challenged enough when a lot is already taken care of for us? Is 'making an effort' important for the quality of our brains or is it beneficial to take it easy? These are some of the questions that renowned professor Erik Scherder will address during his challenging lecture on 'Challenge that brain'." Besides Erik Scherder, other well-known top speakers include influencer and author Master Mark, international football referee Allard Lindhout and special professor of labour market issues Marc van der Meer.

Making food in school canteens more sustainable
Climate and health are also on the agenda during NOT 2023. "For example, this edition we have set up the special terrace 'The healthy school' in cooperation with Greendish, our regular partner in making the food and drink offer more sustainable," explains Audrey Wilschut. "On this terrace, we offer sustainable, tasty and surprising local and seasonal meals. This way, we ensure minimal environmental impact and a delicious offering for all visitors. The aim is to make education professionals aware of the possibilities in school canteens, among others, both better for climate and for the health of both teachers and students."

Three exhibition halls packed with education inspiration with hundreds of exhibitors and sessions
NOT 2023 brings all relevant organisations and inspiring speakers within education under one roof. For a future-proof education, leading organisations such as; Zwijssen, Snappet, Blink, CNV, AOB, Dell, CITO, Delubas, Schoolsupport, Lexima, Prowise, Parnasys, Lenovo, Promethean, Stichting Future NL, SLO, Schilte B.V., Van Ee speeltoestellen, Speelmaatje and Nijha will be packing big on the exhibition floor.
