Companies are increasingly aware of the importance of sustainable business and they like to see this reflected in the events they organise. Jaarbeurs also sees this trend and fully supports it. 'If sustainability is part of your strategic plan, you choose an event location that embraces the same feeling' Niek Krebbers - Sales manager Gast Events Jaarbeurs

Jaarbeurs believes in a world where we treat each other and our environment with care. In our work, we always strive for the perfect balance between people, the environment and society. We feel socially involved, are aware of our surroundings and the impact we have on the future.

You can read how we put that into practice below.

A logical choice for encouraging ov travel

Transport is a big part of the environmental impact of an event. In that respect, choosing the Jaarbeurs as a venue is an immediate climate hit: its central location, right next to Utrecht Central Station, makes public transport an easy and logical choice for the majority of visitors.

More sustainable alternatives in the webshop

Our webshop for exhibitors and organisers clearly indicates the more sustainable options for each choice. In stand construction, for example, using reusable materials instead of processed wood results in huge environmental gains and waste savings. In catering, opt for more plant-based alternatives. Or consider furniture made of plastic from the Utrecht canal.

Welcome app 1

New features of the Jaarbeurs App

Our new Jaarbeurs App (developed in cooperation with Samsung) is an effective alternative to a printed floor plan: through the app, you can always see exactly where in the Jaarbeurs you are, and the easiest route to get to the location where you want to be. In the future, exhibitors will also be able to share information with visitors via the app: less paper, more added value.

Golden label of Green Key

Jaarbeurs has carried the Golden label of Green Key, the international seal of approval for sustainable businesses, for five years. Besides the mandatory standards, we also meet optional standards, for example in the areas of food and drink, energy and cleaning.
