As with everything we do, we always keep the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in mind. The development of the new venue primarily focuses on the goals of "Sustainable Cities and Communities" and "Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure". That's where we as Jaarbeurs can play a significant role. We want to create an open, friendly and welcoming environment for our visitors. But the building alone is not enough; we also want to make the organisation more sustainable. This requires a general transition. It is about reducing food and other waste and making conscious choices for the menu in our restaurants. It is also about personnel policy, about energy and mobility and about our social involvement and partnerships - for example, we are proud to be a partner of the Prinses Máxima Centre for paediatric oncology.
Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, we have embraced six. The following goals are central to our promise for the future:
- Gender equality
- industry, innovation infrastructure
- Sustainable cities
- Responsible consumption and production
- Climate action
- Partnerships for the goals
