Dreaming away in the atmosphere of your next holiday, enjoying the multitude of possible destinations and already experiencing how your holiday food will taste later; for many, the Vakantiebeurs is the ideal pre-holiday fun and the place where you get inspiration for your next trip. The need for holidays, especially after last year, has only increased. However, a physical Vakantiebeurs in April is not possible given the measures and international travel restrictions surrounding the corona virus. That is why Vakantiebeurs is going online for once. This spring, the fair is coming to visitors with an online holiday experience.
'Celebrate' and experience holidays from home
"Online, we are going to put on a really fun event," says Thecla Amoreus of Vakantiebeurs. "Pre-fun is an important part of your holiday. To let people already experience that bit of pre-fun, we are planning an interactive online show in spring where the theme of holidays is really 'celebrated'. By dreaming away, getting inspired, participating and even tasting, we want to bring the holiday experience into your home this year together with partners from the travel industry."
International exhibitors
The desire to be able to go on holiday again is great, and Jaarbeurs, which was the first event venue in the Netherlands to receive the KIWA seal of approval as a safe venue, is actually ready for safe events to take place. The corona virus still has the world and certainly the travel sector too much in its grip. As a result, it is not possible to physically bring together the wide range of national and international tour operators, country agencies and travel organisations at the beginning of April.
Thecla Amoureus strengthens Holiday Fair team
From 1 February, Thecla Amoureus will take over as Sales Project Manager, leading the team, with Arjen van der Linden and Tineke Tees, for the next editions of Vakantiebeurs and Travel Congress. Thecla is also no stranger to the travel industry, bringing 30 years of experience on both the buying and selling side in the travel sector. For the last year, she served as Director of Franchise at The Travel Club, where she was crisis manager during the 2020 coronagraph and handled communications to independent travel operators.
"I believe that travel enriches your life and broadens your outlook. As a Vakantiebeurs, we play a great role in inspiring people and bringing consumers and the travel industry together. I am very much looking forward to bringing people, physically and online, the most beautiful ideas to go on the road as soon as it is possible again," Amoureus motivates her ambitions. Commercial director of Jaarbeurs Peter van der Veer is delighted with her arrival: "Thecla has a wealth of experience and knows the travel industry like no other. With her, we can continue to fulfil the ambitions of Vakantiebeurs unabated".
