Organising a symposium: this you need to know
Are you going to organise a symposium? Then you're probably looking for some handles to help you make it a success. At Jaarbeurs, we have years of experience in organising and hosting symposia and know which strings to pull. Keep this checklist handy and your symposium cannot fail.
What do you want to achieve with the symposium? Do you want to create a platform for knowledge sharing? Will you give a stage to experts or will you mainly let the target group network? There is no right or wrong. But if you have a goal in mind, it will be easier to make choices in the future. So write it down!
Where are your attendees coming from? The event location can be a deciding factor as to whether or not they want to come. Therefore, choose a centrally located venue. That way you are accessible, no matter which means of transport the target group uses. Jaarbeurs, for example, is right next to Utrecht Central Station. We also have 3000 parking spaces and are surrounded by hotels; perfect for both national and international visitors.
