Organising a company party: useful tips

Can you organise the company party? Nice! A company party is the way to connect your colleagues. To inspire. To celebrate successes and inspire employees to keep going. It is a great way to emphasise your organisation's corporate values. Keep these 5 tips for organising a company party to hand and it will be a resounding success.

A company party is more than just a get-together with some bar tables and drinks. So think carefully about the purpose of your party. Do you want to connect people? Encourage creativity? Emphasise your core values? If you are going to organise a corporate event, it is smart to clearly define and write down your goal(s). This will make it easier to make choices while organising.

Choose a theme and use it as a capstone for your corporate party. Think carefully about a theme that suits your company, strategy or communication. The 'seventies' theme with disco balls, for example, is widely used but does not go well with very modern companies. So think carefully about the theme of your party. For example, have you just launched a new innovative product? Then choose a futuristic theme (also fun to hold the party in our futuristic Supernova then!). For example: The Future. Think high-tech décor, interactive displays and more.

You can only make the first impression once. So start the company party with a bang. And that starts much earlier than the party itself, of course. By sending inspiring previews, for example. Give a hint of what is to come. Or send interesting goodies that employees can use at the party. An accessory for the dress code or an old-fashioned disposable camera they can use to make memories. And the actual company party? You start that one with a bang, too, of course. A surprising act, a warm entrance or a funny icebreaker.

Of course, the word says it all; a company party should be festive. Special. Inspiring. Connecting. This is the event your employees and partners have been looking forward to for ages. So blow them away with a surprise. A dazzling performance by a dance group, an award ceremony for employees or an interactive game, for example. Mention that there will be a surprise at the company party, but not what it is. This way, you create more excitement around your event and employees really have something to look forward to.

A company party is something beautiful that people still look back on with pleasure. You can keep that positive atmosphere going for a long time. For instance, send a thank-you e-mail or video from the CEO to everyone and look back on the beautiful moments. Or plan an 'after drink' a week later and show an aftermovie full of highlights from the company party. This way, everyone can reminisce about that special day.
