We process personal data when providing our services. This privacy statement sets out what personal data Jaarbeurs collects and uses and how we handle them. We advise you to read this privacy statement carefully.

Handling of your personal data
Jaarbeurs sets great store by your privacy and handles your personal data with as much care and as safely as possible. Jaarbeurs complies with the privacy regulations in that regard. Jaarbeurs records personal data when providing its services.
Applicability
This privacy statement is meant to inform users of the Jaarbeurs App (the App) about the handling of their personal data. This privacy statement applies to all personal data processing in the App by or in the name of Jaarbeurs.
Content of this privacy statement
This privacy statement sets out what personal data of yours we may process when you use the App. Those personal data are depending on the services of the App that you use. For instance, we process different personal data when you use the App as guest or as registered user and when you use navigation.
For your convenience we differentiate between the processing of personal data for the specific services of the App. A number of links can be found below. Further on in this statement you can read detailed information about what personal data Jaarbeurs processes for the following specific service or process, and for what purpose:

Legal basis for processing
Jaarbeurs uses the personal data listed in this statement for the performance of an agreement or may use your personal data on the grounds of legitimate business interests or based on your explicit consent (permission). Jaarbeurs may also be required by law to process your personal data.
If Jaarbeurs processes personal data on the basis of your consent, Jaarbeurs requests that consent separately. You may withdraw your consent at any time, but the data processed until that time will still have been lawfully processed.
Personal data may be freely provided by you as a user, or, in case of usage data, collected automatically when using the App. Unless specified otherwise, all data requested by this App is mandatory and failure to provide this data may make it impossible for the App to provide its services. In cases where the App specifically states that some data is not mandatory, you are free not to communicate this data without consequences to the availability or the functioning of the services of the App.
Third parties
Jaarbeurs may pass on your personal data to third parties when providing its services, such as parties involved in the development and/or services provided by the App. Jaarbeurs also uses various advisors who may gain acces to your personal data, such as management consultants and lawyers. We may also be required by law to pass on your personal data to third parties. The police and municipality, for instance, may request us to provide data, for instance regarding fraud, safety or an investigation.
You are responsible for any third-party personal data obtained, published or shared through this App and you confirm that you have the third party's permission to provide the data to Jaarbeurs.
Transfer outside the EU
In principle your personal data will be processes and stored within the EU. It is possible that certain personal data may be processed and/or stored by third parties outside the EU on the grounds of the use of their services, like social media platforms. The processing of your personal data by these services will only happen with your explicit consent. For more information about these services and data transfer you can consult the privacy policy of the third party.
Retaining periods
Jaarbeurs does not retain your personal data any longer than is necessary for the aforesaid data processing purposes. Your personal data are therefore retained for as long as is necessary to achieve the purposes in question. When there are specific retaining periods they are mentioned below, at the detailed information of the service of the App.
It is possible that we require to retain certain personal data for a longer period, in order to comply with statutory obligations to retain records.
Device permissions for personal data access
Depending on your specific device, the App may request certain permissions that allow it to access your device data as described below.
By default, these permissions must be granted by you before the respective personal information can be accessed. Once the permission has been given, it can be withdrawn by you at any time. In order to withdraw these permissions, you may refer to the device settings or contact Jaarbeurs for support.
The exact procedure for controlling App permissions may be dependent on your device and software. Please note that the withdrawal of such permissions might impact the proper functioning of the App. If you grant any of the permissions listed below, the respective personal data may be processed (i.e accessed to, modified or removed) by the App.
Approximate location permission (continuous)
Used for accessing your approximate device location. This App collects, uses, and shares your location data in order to provide location-based services.
Bluetooth sharing permission
Used for accessing Bluetooth related functions such as scanning for devices, connecting with devices, and allowing data transfer between devices.
Age limit
The App is not intended to be used by children under the age of 16, unless specifically mentioned by the organiser of the exhibition or event. If you are under the age of 16, you can use the App after your parents or guardians have acknowledged and consented to the terms and conditions in the app.
Security
Jaarbeurs has of course taken security measures to protect your personal data against loss and unauthorized access.
Your rights, questions and requests
You have a number of rights under privacy regulations, which are described below.
Access: you have the right to ask whether Jaarbeurs processes your personal data and, if so, the right to access your personal data.
Rectification: you have the right to request Jaarbeurs to rectify or supplement your personal data if they are inaccurate or incomplete.
Erasure: you may file a request to have your personal data erased ('right to be forgotten').
Restriction: you may file a request to restrict the processing of your personal data by Jaarbeurs, for instance if you believe that Jaarbeurs is unlawfully processing your personal data or if the personal data processed may be inaccurate.
Objection: you may object to the processing of your personal data on the grounds of special personal circumstances. You may also object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes.
Data portability: you may request transmission of your personal data if those personal data were provided on the basis of your consent or an agreement with Jaarbeurs.

We may request additional information to verify your identity. In principle, we will inform you no later than one month after receiving your request whether we can comply with that request. In specific cases, such as a complex request, that term may be extended by a period of two months. We will inform you of such an extension no later than one month after receiving your request. Privacy legislation allows us to reject your request in certain circumstances. In that case we will explain the reason for that rejection. If you object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes, we will always respect that request.

Complaints about the processing of your personal data
If you have a complaint about the processing of your personal data by Jaarbeurs, we will try to reach a solution in consultation. If that does not have the desired effect, you have the right to file a complaint with the privacy authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (Dutch Data Protection Authority). Amendment of this privacy statement
Jaarbeurs may amend this privacy statement. New versions are always published in the App and on our websites.

Jaarbeurs App
As a visitor of exhibitions and events at Jaarbeurs we offer you extra services through our App. As a user of the App you provide Jaarbeurs with personal data or we process your personal data, for instance when you upload your e-ticket, navigate through the hall. When you install the App you also get access to specific event or exhibitions and venue information for your visit at Jaarbeurs. You have the choice to use the App as a guest or to register as user. To use certain services the App requires you to register yourself as a user.
Personal data and purposes of processing
Access to the App
Jaarbeurs processes the following personal data, by itself or through third parties, which is based on our performance of the agreement to give you access to the App:
- phone settings
- opt-in (permission) information
- notification settings
Jaarbeurs also collects the following personal data, by itself or through third parties, which is based on our legitimate interests to maintain and improve our services:
- click behaviour
- usage data (like timestamp, language, app updates, etc.)
- analytics data (like device information, network type, launches, operating systems, etc.)
Register as user
You can register as user by filling out the registration form and provide the personal data directly to the App. Jaarbeurs processes the following personal data, by itself or through third parties, which is based on the performance of the agreement for your registration and authentication:
- email address
- password
Your user account, including the personal data, will stay available for you after the exhibition or event, unless you delete it in the app account settings.
Navigation service
In order to provide you indoor wayfinding services (including notifications and information about crowd density) in the halls, we process the following personal data, by itself or through third parties, which is based on your explicit consent:
- Device sensor and radio data: Radio information such as BLE and WI-FI signals, GPS signals, as well as IMU sensor data, are processed to determine whether you are indoors and to compute your exact location.
- Location information: Location information such as coordinates (latitude and longitude), floor number, heading, and the corresponding timestamps, of the device are processed to compute the crowd density levels and provide you with indoor wayfinding.
The collection of data occurs both when the App is on foreground and when it’s on background. The above (personal) data will be collected in a pseudonymous format. This makes it possible to distinguish between different people and locations. The pseudonymous data will be deleted after 4 days (96 hours). After this, all data is either deleted or anonymized so that it is no-longer personally identifiable.
Jaarbeurs also collects the following personal data, by itself or through third parties, which is based on our legitimate interests to maintain and develop this service:
- Random user ID: we generate a random user ID when you first install the App. This identifier is used to link the data from the same device together (i.e. to create pseudonymous data), which is required to be able to technically provide this service, and to comply with regulatory inquiries and requirements.
- Other device information: device information such as operating system version, network connectivity status, and language preference are collected for monitoring the usage of the service.
- Log information: your use of the services may generate server logs, crash reports, and audit logs. These are collected to ensure the technical functionality and security of the services, audit and analyze the Services, and to prevent and investigate fraud and other misuses.
For crowd control we only use anonymized data to see and show the crowd density. To improve our services we only use anonymized location data to analyse the behaviour of our visitors, like the number of people who have passed a stand, the busiest ails and moments, etc.
All data is stored for a maximum period of 4 days (96 hours) after it has been collected or can be deleted earlier on your request. All data processed based on your explicit consent, including non-aggregated location data, will get deleted. The data processed on the grounds of our legitimate interest, such as log data and device model information, is either anonymized or deleted. Non-personal, anonymous data, such as the aggregated crowd density data and anonymized log data, are retained indefinitely.
E-ticket service
As a registered user you can upload your e-ticket in the App. When you use this service Jaarbeurs will process, by itself or through third parties, the following personal data, which is based on our legitimate interest:
- e-mail address (used for purchase e-ticket)
- order-id number
- QR-code
The above personal data can be deleted from the ticket page in the app.
