Anyone who organises around 50 congresses a year knows the ropes. So does Igor Dirkx, Business Leader Healthcare at SBO Study Centre for Business and Government (part of Euroforum), where his responsibilities include the dozens of healthcare congresses the organisation organises every year. Since 2010, he has chosen Jaarbeurs as his event location year in, year out. We asked Igor 5 questions about the healthcare congresses and the choices he makes: 'With other venues, I have to reinvent the wheel. At Jaarbeurs as a regular venue, I experience peace of mind.'
'That was Data Driven Healthcare on 24 May at conference venue Supernova. Data and data-driven technologies are increasingly going to contribute to healthcare decisions. Availability of medical data and digital data exchange is essential in this regard. Data Driven Healthcare will cover topics such as electronic data exchange in healthcare, personalised care pathways and opportunities and challenges of AI in healthcare. We invite progressive speakers and cover these topics in plenary sessions and sub-sessions. About 500 people came to the congress.'

'Our conferences are about information, innovation and inspiration. We also think it is important that people have enough space to network. We bring everyone together: directors, board members, management and project leaders of Cure, Care Youth and GGZ institutions. Moreover, we cover topics that are hugely topical.'

'Very good. There were interesting topics and the participants were very satisfied. The facilities were also top-notch. The turnout was positive and the Jaarbeurs team really thought along with us on the day itself. Jaarbeurs picks things up immediately and always looks for a solution if something doesn't go as expected. I find that extremely important.

'Jaarbeurs is a very fine event location. The location is perfect: easily accessible and in the middle of the country. The service level is also good. You are always warmly welcomed and they are flexible. I also find it interesting that Jaarbeurs itself organises trade fairs for the healthcare sector and has a lot of experience in facilitating and organising large and small events for this sector. Jaarbeurs wants to make Utrecht the healthcare city of the Netherlands, this strategic alliance can be very interesting. It's great if we can mean something to each other. For instance, Jaarbeurs's own trade fair, Zorg & ICT, was promoted at our conference Data Driven Healthcare. The other way round too; at Zorg & ICT, another of our congresses, Mobile Healthcare, was promoted. We can reinforce each other.'

'I can read and write with Jaarbeurs. At another venue I have to reinvent the wheel, but at Jaarbeurs, as a regular venue, I experience peace of mind. Jaarbeurs is also great when it comes to flexibility: if you need an extra room, for instance, things like that can simply be arranged. I know the venue well - I've been coming there for more than 10 years, which obviously makes a difference. I know exactly where, what sits and how to arrange something. For example, I even know how many power sockets there are in conference room Polar and which curtains hang in Supernova, haha!'
