Zero-emission zone and environmental zone

The Municipality of Utrecht will introduce a zero-emission zone on 1 January 2025 aimed at reducing CO2 emissions. The zone is defined as an area where only zero-emission commercial vehicles and trucks are allowed to drive. In addition, the current environmental zone for diesel cars will become stricter on the same date.

As Jaarbeurs is located within both the zero-emission zone and environmental zone, parking or loading/unloading on our premises will no longer be permitted if your vehicle does not meet the admission requirements.

Exemptions

If your vehicle does not have access to the zero-emission zone, it may be possible for you to apply for an exemption in certain cases. More information can be found on the RDW website (in Dutch).

Where is the zero-emission zone?

The zero-emission zone will be indicated by traffic signs. Once you have driven past these boundary signs you will be officially within the zero-emission zone. Utrecht council will install these signs in late December 2024.
