Today, the organisation of the international Future Green City 2024 conference announced that it has chosen Royal Jaarbeurs and the Municipality of Utrecht as host venue and city for the conference on the greening of cities. From September 23 to 26 2024, professionals from the Netherlands and abroad will attend the Beatrix Theater of Jaarbeurs, to exchange ideas and discuss shaping liveable green city of the future. The international conference is organized by the Royal Association Stadswerk Nederland (Stadswerk) and the Royal Association of Gardeners and Landscapers (VHG).
Jaarbeurs and Municipality of Utrecht
Jaarbeurs, together with the Municipality of Utrecht, has won the bid for this important conference on sustainability.
"Jaarbeurs is a proud and committed resident of Utrecht. We are involved in our city and are happy to contribute to a place where healthy urban living is a focus. The Future Green Cities conference is fully in line with our own sustainability ambitions, where we want to host the most important events and conferences in the field of sustainability. So we are very proud that we can host this conference in our Beatrix Theater in 2024!", says Niek Krebbers, Manager Sales Guest Events at Jaarbeurs.
Alderman Voortman (Green): "We are honoured that Utrecht has been chosen. Utrecht has been consistently working on making a densifying city greener for years now. With all the challenges going on around the world, for example climate change, this way of thinking is urgently needed. Knowledge of colleagues and experiences from other cities are indispensable to deal with the challenges of this world in a smart way. We look forward to gathering all the inspiration and good ideas from all over."
Substantive program
The participants can look forward to a substantive program with interesting speakers and workshops, in which they will also explore how the Netherlands is becoming greener in the city of Utrecht and beyond. The conference takes place simultaneously with the ‘Public Space trade fair’ in the Jaarbeurs, so that guests can gain knowledge there as well.
